Self-clinching microPEM® Pins
(14) PEM Type MPP, self-clinching microPEM® pins are ideal for today’s compact electronic assemblies. Simply pressed into a properly sized mounting hole, these micro pins clinch permanently into place. They can be installed into a variety of sheet materials up to HRB 92/HB 195 in hardness and they offer excellent corrosion resistance.Features and Benefits
- Satisfy demanding micro positioning and alignment applications.
- Head mounts flush into panels as thin as 0.5mm.
- Chamfered end makes mating hole alignment easy.
- Can be installed into stainless steel sheets.
- Excellent corrosion resistance.
- Can be installed automatically.
- RoHS compliant
Self-clinching microPEM® Standoffs - Types MSO4™, MSOFS™
PEM Type MSO4 self-clinching microPEM® standoffs are used to stack or space internal components and provide strong, permanent, and reusable load-bearing threads in metal sheets as thin as .012” / 0.3mm. Thread sizes have been developed as small as M1 and available unified fastener lengths are .094” and .125” and 2mm and 3mm in metric.- Become integral parts of an assembly by clinching permanently in place.
- Will not loosen or fall out.
- Can be installed into stainless steel sheets.
- Can be installed automatically.
- RoHS compliant.
Self-clinching microPEM® TackPin®
New self-clinching microPEM® TackPin® (Type T™) fasteners for compact electronic assemblies enable sheet-to-sheet attachment, replacing costly screw installation in applications where disassembly is not required. Their use eliminates typical screwrelated issues (including tapping, cross-threading, torque control, and vibration backout) and ultimately promotes quick and easy installation with minimal hardware. TackPin fasteners can also provide a good alternative to welds or adhesives. Type-TA-microPEM-TackPin-Fasteners.JPGSelf-clinching microPEM® TackScrew™
(2) New self-clinching, threaded microPEM® TackScrew™ (Type TS™) fasteners enable cost effective sheet-to-sheet attachment, by simply pressing into place. The TackScrew™ fastener securely attaches a top sheet or panel to the base material. TackScrew fasteners can be removed by simply unscrewing similar to other threaded fasteners.Features and Benefits
- Simple, press-in installation for secure attachment
- Proven clinch technology resists vibrational loosening.
- Replaces micro screws, eliminating installation issues including:
– Cost of locking patch
– Cost of threaded insert or tapped hole
– Cost of driver bits
– Cost of rework due to cross-threading and driver bit “cam-out” - Can be installed automatically for high volume application.
- Twists out (unscrew) if removal is necessary. Can be reinstalled one time using a thread locking adhesive.
- Laptops
- Notebooks
- Tablet Computers
- Cell/Smart Phones
- Gaming / Hand Held Devices
- Wearables
- Automotive Electronics
TackSert® Pins
(30) For attachment of thin sheets to plastics, common casting materials and other similar base materials. Also available in micro sizes, which are ideal for compact electronics.Features and Benefits
microPEM® Symmetrical, Thru-Threaded, Types MSIA™, MSIB™
(20)- Threads as small as M1.
- Symmetrical design eliminates the need for orientation.
- Provides excellent performance in wide range of plastics.
- Aluminum inserts offer light weight designs.
- Aluminum inserts offer lead-free alternative.
microPEM® ClampDisk® Fastener - Type CDS™
The microPEM® ClampDisk® fastener presses straight onto a 1 mm pin to replace threads, adhesive, rivets and other small fasteners. The upward flanges of the disk grip onto the pin and prevent push-off while the downward flanges flex and generate clamp load.
- Clamp load generation
- Simple installation
- Removability
- Works with multiple panels of any material
- Limited installation stress to assemble
- Tamper resistant
